In Pahrump, Nevada, an elderly man called the police after his wife fell in the shower. When the police arrived, the man was told to put his hands in the air and then was placed under arrest. While in police custody, the man was tasered at least four times. The taser caused the man to suffer severe heart arrhythmia. The City has admitted its misconduct.
Man Shot in the Head
Pete v. The City of Spokane, et al., 07 C 372
A Spokane Washington resident was shot in the head by an off-duty police officer on his way home. The police officer fired five shots at the man who was merely looking for a ride home. In connection with the shots fired, the police officer is charged with 1st degree assault and reckless endangerment.
Police Officer Criminally Prosecuted for Murder in Kentucky

A police officer is criminally prosecuted for the willful and wanton murder of a man in Harlan County, Kentucky. The victim, a young 22-year old, arrived at a party where there was an on-duty police officer. The police officer then began beating the victim, pushed him to the ground, and fired shot(s) into his head. The victim died after the incident. The family of the victim retained Horwitz, Richardson & Baker to represent them in a civil suit against the police officer and the County that employed the on-duty police officer.

A young man was walking out of a convenience store in Chicago, Illinois, when a police officer outside the door shot and killed him. The man was with friends walking out of the store moments prior to being shot. Within a matter of seconds, he walked outside and was shot by a police officer standing outside.
